Masquerade in the Mountains

GVT is so excited to present our summer benefit, Masquerade in the Mountains!
After last year’s 50th anniversary gala, we were reminded that folks love a good party for a great cause, and while we weren’t looking to replicate 2017’s special celebration, we were compelled to invite the community to what is going to be a fabulous celebration to benefit Greenbrier Valley Theatre.

Masquerade in the Mountains is a unique opportunity for friends of GVT to join the beauty and frivolity of Venetian masquerades with the cuisine and culture of the Alleghenys. You are invited to don your favorite cocktail attire, and pair it with a mask if you desire. GVT will host you and your guests at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicines Student Center, where we will serve a menu of heavy hors d’oeuvres consisting of elevated Appalachian favorites, along with beer and wine provided by local distributers American Beer Company and Country Vintner.

This evening of dancing and entertainment will include a cabaret performance by Gabrielle Lee, who is set to star in the world premiere of Bricktop: Legend of the Jazz Age, playing this October and November at GVT.

Following Lee’s performance will be dancing with Charleston’s River Jam, a fantastic band with a full horn section and three singer who will play all your favorite hits.

Masquerade in the Mountains is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together to benefit and celebrate Greenbrier Valley Theatre’s unique contributions to the area. Everyone is invited to attend. All proceeds benefit GVT, an organization that is a cornerstone in our community,” said Greenbrier Valley Theatre’s Development Manager Sofia Crowell.

Special events committee member Judith Huber said, “I am honored to assist Greenbrier Valley Theatre on the special events planning committee as we plan the Masquerade. GVT is valuable to the community because they provide a range of enrichment to the community, even beyond theatre, including The Met: Live in HD, Saturday Sinfonia and Kermit’s Kabaret.”
